Welcome along for our Melbourne Cup Preview a tough race and a tough card but were confident we can find a few winners to push on to the final couple of carnival meetings.

The Great race has a host of chances as usual, as we have seen in recent years it's hard to ever rule a line through any runner but, Lets find a handful to fill the first 4!
The race appears to be fast on paper so going off the barrier and maps there is a few that jump out at me, Presage Nocturne ran home beautifully in the Caulfield Cup which looked like a lovely little tune up for this he maps well considering the speed in the race and has quite a few 3000m starts under his belt, He is an out and out stayer who will run this out stronger than most.
Buckaroo always gives a great account of himself, he's been here before and will be better for that experience, Maps to drop in behind the leading bunch and will be doing his best work late as usual.
Royal Supremacy an interesting runner here, probably settles near the tail like he did in the Caulfield cup, The Metropolitan winner gets in with 51kg and will be a swooper if the speed is relentless as it looks on paper.
Middle Earth another good roughie who hasn't been ticking over too bad, another backmarker who will appreciate the speed and the big track, he had decent form over these longer trips in Europe and looks ready for this especially the way he maps with this speed,
A host of other chances in what is the toughest race to pick but my numbers are 

6,22,2,7

Melbourne Cup Meeting Best Bets Taking a look at a few best bets early for the Melbourne Cup meeting a tough card but we think we have found a few here to beat the bookies. Race 2 Horse 7 Brave Miss Big field here with few chances in my book, Brave Miss stood out as a great bet at the $7, speed drawn inside the looks to drop in behind the leading bunch, Makdane lugging the 60.5Kgs has a bit of a task to hold on and Jamie Melham will have Brave Miss flying to the line to get us off to a great day. Race 4 Horse 1 Aleppo Pine Failed last start behind Tentyris, but form doesn't get much stronger than that at present, looking at the rest of the field, I think Aleppo Pine can bounce back strongly and fill some pockets up at the $7.
